In 1981, Dr. Regmi, bequeathed his entire belongings to Nepal  and its people. This was formally transferred to the Government of Nepal in the presence of late King Birendra in 1990. The Dilli Raman Kalyani Regmi Library  has the richest collection of books and allied materials in the whole of Nepal and is a storehouse of knowledge. He vigorously inspired the 1989 mass movement. He fully cooperated with pro-democratic forces during that time.
