As a People's servant As Foreign Minister in 1955, Dr. Regmi prepared the ground for the normalization of Sino-Nepal relations and the entry of Nepal into the U.N.O. Dr. Regmi spearheaded the Satyagraha (Civil Disobedience) Movement in 1957 for a specific date to hold democratic elections. Dr. Regmi was Home Minister in 1958-1959 and his performance in the first ever held general election was extremely creditable. He won acclamation as minister for holding fair and impartial election.
